The Swiss Financial Centre is the world’s biggest international Wealth Management Centre. At the centre of it all is SIX. It operates Switzerland’s financial market infrastructure and on a global scale offers comprehensive services in the areas of securities trading, clearing and settlement, as well as financial information and payment transactions. Every day, the systems at SIX process vast quantities of data: 99.6bn francs were raised by companies on the stock exchange in 2016, 3 petabyte storage capacity are managed in the SIX data processing center, 207mn francs are processed daily in credit and debit card transactions – just to name a few examples.
Swiss Finance Museum
Since June 2017, the history of the Swiss financial center has a new home: the first and only Swiss Finance Museum in the banking nation Switzerland houses a multimedia exhibition on the fundamental significance of the financial market and its infrastructure for our daily life. With newest technology the origin of the economic system, the importance of the stock exchange, capital markets, financial instruments and payment transactions is explained in an innovative and entertaining way.
