Hailing from Kristiansand, Norway, In Vain has been a pioneering force
in Norwegian progressive extreme metal since 2003.
After releasing two EPs in 2004 and 2005, In Vain unleashed their first full-length album, «The Latter
Rain» in 2007, a collaborative effort with nearly 20 guest musicians, showcasing their prowess in
diverse, progressive arrangements. Subsequent albums «Mantra» (2010), «Ænigma» (2013) and
«Currents» (2018) continued to push musical boundaries,
each release further cementing their status as innovators in the genre.
In 2024, over two decades since their grand debut, In Vain triumphantly returned with their fifth
masterpiece, «Solemn». The album swiftly earned placement on countless ‘Album of the Year’ lists
throughout 2024, receiving a standing ovation from both media and fans worldwide.
This hour-long opus represents both a culmination of their legendary past and a bold venture into uncharted sonic
territories.
In Vain remains a powerhouse in extreme metal, captivating audiences with their dynamic
