Having mostly failed to predict the outcome of the 2016 US presidential elections, most financial markets and investors are cautious going into November 4th. While Europe is well into the second wave with the US rapidly following suite. Since the first material facts around the Covid pandemic emerged at the beginning of the year, Central Banks and governments have announced massive stimulus measures, yet Q3 GDP numbers were disappointingly soft. On the other side, China seems to have regained control and reported GDP growth of almost 5% in Q3.
When will we see the effects of massive government stimuli on Europe economies, what does the outcome of the US election mean for financial markets, and to what extent is the Chinese recovery sustainable? What will be the full impact of global Covid 19 lockdowns on the future of work, technology and climate change, the rising levels of inequality and security.
