Dear friends of Norgesklubben Sveits and Scandinavian Forum Switzerland,

We are excited to invite you to a fascinating and educational group visit to CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. This is a unique opportunity to explore one of the world’s largest and most respected centers for scientific research.

The visit starts with lunch in the *Glass Box” (private space) at CERNs restaurant. The guided tour is scheduled to start at 14:00 lasting maximum 3 hours and it includes 1 or 2 facilities. A bus has been arranged to transport visitors between the CERN sites during the visit.

Our guide for the day will be Mr. Jens Vigen, CERN Scientific Information Service, is Secretary-General of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).

Fee:

Members  CHF 60.-
Non membres: CHF 80.-

Tickets includes only the lunch and transport costs at CERN. (Visits at CERN are always free of charge).

How to Get to CERN

By Train
From Geneva’s Cornavin Train Station (Gare Cornavin):

  • Public Transport: Take tram 18 to “CERN,” the terminus. The ticket costs 3 CHF (select the “Tout Genève” ticket from the machine).

  • Public Transport: Take bus 23, 28, or 57 and get off at “Blandonnet,” then take tram 18 or bus 68 to the terminus “CERN.”

By Car

  • Address: 1, Esplanade des Particules, Meyrin, Switzerland
    A paid car park is located behind the Globe of Science and Innovation. Please note that parking is allowed only for the duration of your visit. Parking outside the car park is forbidden and vehicles parked illegally may be fined by local authorities.
